Prelims are almost over!

Oh man, the Prelims are almost over! And i've finally decided that I shouldn't stop blogging, because it has always been the source of my introspective reflection - something which I have been sorely lacking over the past few weeks, and probably will for the rest of my life if I don't blog. So that is it, and I shall continue to blog for as long as I live.

I also need to start blogging essays for GP and about other stuff like I did for my O levels, and managed to bring up my standard of English from C6 to A1. But then again, that was the O levels, and honestly, getting an A1 isn't that hard then. A levels, on the other hand, are much, much harder, since the population of students that are competing for the top prize has been whittled down to just a handful, with majority of people moving on to Polytechnics and ITEs. I must clarify that by saying that, by no means do I mean to exert any amount of condescension on anyone, but I digress.

Really, I think it has been quite a while since I last looked introspectively to ponder upon some of the finer points of living that I lack, or perhaps flatter myself with the stuff I did good to boost my self-confidence.

That aside, the two papers that are left are Chemistry Paper 1 (MCQ) and Physics Paper 1 (MCQ) - both are 1h papers each. 40 MCQ questions. I sure hope that they would be a piece of cake.

But while I have been doing my Prelims, my parents have decided to go on a holiday to Shanghai's World Expo 2010. No, my parent are NOT the evil conniving ones who would go for a holiday right smack in the middle of my prelims IN MY FACE. No, they are definitely not. They actually went together with my relatives who weren't aware that I would be having my prelims while they were in the stages of planning for this 1-week trip there. So I totally understand, and anyway, it's not as if I'd be affected even if they did it intentionally anyway. But they are really nice parents who love me so much, that they'll never do such a thing to me. EVER. :)

The starcraft 2 scene is really picking up around the world, especially in North America. Unfortunately for people like us in the Oceania region, which includes Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, the community isn't as strong as we'd like it to. Such is the state of the small, community here that Blizzard has decided to allow North American region access for all SEA versions - the first version to have "cross region" play. Of course, that was because we need to have a larger player base to play properly. Heh.

I really hope that the Starcraft 2 community here in homeground will grow, and I'm seriously considering starting to commentate on games and perhaps start a shoutcast stream on Youtube myself, much like how HuskyStarcraft and HDStarcraft are doing their stuff. This, also with other fellow commentators in the region, namely SephyreSC - comparable to the standards of HuskyStarcraft and HDStarcraft - I hope that this would really generate a much larger interest in SC2 in the region in general. Hopefully this would also raise the level of competitiveness in SC2 and get the great players up and coming. Media must play a crucial role in sustaining anything - just look at Korea man. Media has created a few billion dollars worth in a Starcraft 1 competitive gaming community. Since Singapore is looking to create a niche in the competitive gaming scene, commentators are sorely needed - hopefully I can contribute to that.

Starcraft 2 aside, Bungie has just reached their new pinnacle of game development. Halo Reach is now so much more competitive and much more strategic just by the addition of a new dimension of gameplay - loadouts. Check out the news on Gamespot for more details, because i don't have the luxury of time to go through those now. I've got Prelims tomorrow!

My cousin decided to borrow my Xbox 360 since I'll not be using it until perhaps after the A levels coz i need to study, and even if I play, i'd most likely play Starcraft 2. He has since bought a copy of Halo: Reach and went balls out bonkers on the final addition to the Halo franchise by Bungie. From initial impressions, I'm sure he'll have a great time, and he's been praising the game. The best thing is, after he's done, I'll get back my Xbox 360 and I get to keep the game! :D :D Perfect!

There's just so many things that are going on right now, and I don't even know why is it my luck that all the great events are happening around Prelims and A levels in general? Starcraft 2 on 27 July, Halo: Reach on 14 September, YOG from 14-26 August, etc. etc. etc. Gosh.

But I'm hoping that once I get my prelims done and over with, I'd really be able to get down to down some of these stuff I've been wanting to do since the start of BT2, but really hadn't the time to do.

I guess this is it, so Dante out.
