It has been quite a while since I last touched my camera for and event such as this, yet the camera still feels natural to me. It has probably become an extension of myself where the camera and I are one, just as how Samurais and their swords are as one. O.o heh.
Anyway, since they hired an official photographer for the event, I figured that I try to complement his photos with other shots, using unconventional angles, 'behind the scenes' coverage, etc. Mainly, editorial based.

It all started on the early hours of the Saturday, 23 Oct 2010, 6am. Everyone who wished to attend, all the 'jie mei's, and especially the bride, were getting ready for the groom's arrival.

Gown, check; Makeup artist, check; Photographer, check; Videographer, check... Well, mainly it was the bride that was getting ready, because she was the star of the show. So everyone decided to gather outside her room to watch her transform into that princess.

Everything was ready, and everyone was eagerly waiting for the veiling of the bride.

Groom arrives in a luxury car, complete with a driver.

He was basically all-smiles when he first stepped out of the car. And as he approached the gates of the house, his band of 'Xiongdi's were not too far behind him.

As the groom approached the gates, he was met with obstacles - a series of tasks that he, and his 'Xiongdi's has to complete before being allowed to pass through to reach the bride. but he also had to give red packets before receiving every task to perform. But basically, he sang, danced, did push-ups, limbo..... oh you get the point. It was supposed to 'torture' the groom, so that it shows how sincere he is, and how far he is willing to go in order to get to his bride.

And then came the final obstacle - singing his love out to the bride.

And when the bride finally approved of his singing, the doors were opened and the bride was brought away to the groom's place for a 'Jingcha' session, where the bride and groom offers tea to the elders as a form of respect, and to ask for their blessings for their marriage.

Bride and groom arrives back at the bride's house for a traditional family meal (which I don't know what it's called, if there is a name for it), another 'Jingcha' session, and photo-taking

After that, off we were to the banquet. This is the first time that the ceremony is in the afternoon, together with the lunch. Usually, it would be a dinner, where everything is not as rushed. But I guess this saves a lot of time. Haha.
Alright, I don't think I need to annotate anything from here on out. Except maybe that I think I drank a lot of good white wine just because it was soooo good. At first, I was drinking the wine because I didn't want it to turn warm, which would suck. After my first cup, I decided that it tasted so good that I drank more and more, and the waiters kept filling my glass with more wine, and I drank even more until I lost track of the number of glasses I drank. I think I could have finished 1 bottle myself. O.o Well, I didn't become too drunk, and I didn't have a hangover, whatsoever. And my photos actually turned out okay. Just see the photos.

Oh, oh, and here's me toasting to the bride and groom while taking photos. Not very easy, especially when your camera weighs in at about 4kg and you're basically supporting it with your fingers. Hahaha:

And *surprise*, *surprise*, during the lunch, another of my cousins announced his engagement:

Edward and Vanessa. Well, that is for another day.
This time, the spotlight's on Ivan and Jingmin, and I give my well wishes to them.
Dante out.
